Real Hardware Reviews / Re: Ryzen 3: Budget or Bust
« on: September 13, 2017, 04:04:37 AM »
Thanks for the review. Ryzen is a breath of fresh air to get competition in the CPU world. If I did anything demanding with productivity etc, it would be at the top of my list. As is I would have no issues recommending it or using it...pricing on the day I buy would likely be the biggest factor.

Thanks for the review. Seems like a great card, but I think $30 is too much of a premium on a low-mid range card. This puts it too close to 1060 3gb pricing. That said real world street pricing is what really matters.

Depends on what you want to mine, But as stated above 1060/1070s are a good start. a 1000W PSU would power a 5 GTX 1070 rig np, or a 6 gtx 1060 rig.

I don't doubt a 1000w powering 5 1070s, but I don't think I would run more than 4 personally.

Thanks for the review. I will have to give it an in depth read later. I used to recommend the bx100 as a budget drive, however the bx200 missed the mark IMO. Looks like the bx300 may be back up for my recommend.

No first hand experience, but I read good things about antec sp fans.

Only with the most recent drivers? I haven't seen it yet, but I haven't done the most recent drivers yet.

It will be interesting to see how pricing plays out with these changes.

I couldn't get the initial post to format the way I want on my phone, but the pic is there now. Link below, and another stating 21 August reveal.

Per the title, it seems ryzen is getting Intel to up their game on CPUs. Techpowerup had the following:

EDIT: Photo should be displaying now.

EDIT 2: Now some i5/i7 details.

Amazingly no!!!! haha this will be my new 1156 review bench mobo :) going to start getting back to the "value" used reviews and seeing how old gear compares. really enjoy doing those and find they give me the drive to do other reviews and videos.

I like that type of review as well. How about 1156 era i5 or i7 vs modern hyperthreaded pentium (G4560 or G4600)?

Traded a drive I bought with BTC locally for this

When did this get made??? haha 6 Dimm slot 1156 but over the last few weeks I am very happy to say I have got a bunch of new benches for review videos of low cost hardware BUT.... wife is due any day now so there should be a bit longer break till I get back to constant videos and I really want to get back to videos :(

PS I forgot the board came with a i3 not sure what one did not care as I have some i5's xeons and i7's to test in it :) and the heatsink which is nice as I'm starting to run out

Would I be correct in expecting those PCIE slots to be getting loaded up soon?

How's profitability with the drop in eth?
