HyperX ALLOY FPS Pro

"For those looking for a good TKL form-factor keyboard that will not break the bank but will not fail to impress the HyperX Alloy FPS Pro is sure to impress. Just make sure that you really don’t need the number pad otherwise the Alloy FPS may be a more optimal choice – slightly higher price or not."

Everything Overclocking! / Country Cup 2017 - Going on now
« on: November 01, 2017, 07:35:23 AM »
Country Cup 2017

The HWBOT Country Cup returns. As ever the 2017 contest features six separate stages that are designed to challenge the overclocking skills of the best overclockers from every country in the world.

The ninth annual edition of the HWBOT Country Cup contest follows a similar format to previous years. Each of the six stages requires a specific number of submissions, each from a different overclocker using a different CPU or graphics card. Team organization is crucial. The final stage however will be a straight up battle to see who has the edge in extreme multi-GPU overclocking. If you are handy with LN2 and know how to push hardware to the max, go support your fellow countrymen!

Here at HWBOT we try our best to deliver a fair and enjoyable playing field for all those who participate in the rankings and competition. To be able to provide this kind of service we have tried to design some submission and general rules to help remove any doubts about whether something is allowed or not. Based on continued experience these rules will be updated, expanded and completed as time goes by. Please check back for any updates.

GENERAL RULES

Only your best score will count for the stage average
Retail desktop hardware only, ES not allowed. Hardware must be launched before the start of the competition
General HWBOT rules apply, we rely on the spirit of fair play as well. HWBOT reserves the right to reject any entries without further justification.

VERIFICATION RULES

Please attach a picture of your overclocking rig in use
Please provide a screenshot with official background, CPUZ CPU, mainboard, memory and SPD tab and GPUZ for 3D stages.
Please use CPUZ 1.80 or later and GPUZ 2.20 or later

Servers / Mac Pro Tower 1,1 Something Old into Something New
« on: October 31, 2017, 12:54:35 PM »
Got a Mac Pro A1186 / 1,1 this weekend and think it would make for great project and a nice thing to put all the mac pro guides into one place.

Plans for the Mac "Not so" Pro are:
-Bios upgrade from 1,1 to 2,1 (better cpu compatibility)
-Dual quad-cores, one of the guys I work with has a bunch of the 2.66ghz x5355's so those should do nicely (Currently the system is running dual x5150 dual cores)
-16GB DDR2 FDimm upgrade or 32gb if I can get a second riser super cheap (think there is currently like 2GB in the rig)
-OSX El Capitan as well as windows 10 pro 64
-HDD Upgrade as right now it has nothing haha, 2x120gb SSD's and 2 1TB or whatever I have in my spare box with half on windows half on osx
-Upgrade the GPU and go over ATI/AMD Flashing tool for EFI vBios currently, I have a few 4870's so might throw one in or go all out with something like a GTX 680 using Nvidias tools, current system gpu is a GT 7300.

Plan to test the system as is on a few benchmarks and put windows on bootcamp and do the same to get a baseline.

Also plan to do everything in stages to cover what benefits each upgrade provides, where possible

Once this is complete I will start the upgrade and build Vlog.

The BlazeTorch is an awesome tool for anyone, Price update is $1699 but even at that price, it is perfect for anyone in search in rescue or into anything active at night.

In our testing we found the BlazeTorch to be extremely comfortable and Blaze also offers a Glasses insert for anyone with Glasses.

Only big complaint is the MicroSD slot seems was a little annoying to work with but other than that it is a great unit and was far more fun than expected to test.

"Remove the cloak of darkness and discover nature’s night side. Start your own journey and experience new adventures with BlazeTorch. Put on BlazeTorch and move through the night, hands free. On the bench today we have the Ballistix Elite 32GB 3466 DDR4 Kit

The Ballistix Elite DDR4-3466 may cost a pretty penny but if you can afford the asking price – which is actually better than most for this class – they easily justify the cost of entry into this elite world of no compromise solutions.

News / Intel’s New 8th Gen Coffee Lake CPUs Due out Tomorrow
« on: October 04, 2017, 07:33:00 AM »
Today our Newest Content Creator makes his debut, Dave will be assisting with news at RHR so make sure to give him a warm welcome. He is also the creator of many of the Avatars and art work on RHR as well as some upcoming shirts and accessories we hope to have out around xmas time.

Dave goes by the name Eyetrance on the forums so make sure to say hi and give him and praises or advice you have.

Intel’s latest 8th generation Coffee Lake Core processors drops on October 5. They will differ from previous generations by including more cores. The Core i5 and i7 will feature six cores (previously only four; i7 will still have hyperthreading), and the Core i3 will have four cores (previously two cores with hyperthreading). The Coffee Lake CPUs are built on a 14nm++ process. Comparatively to Kaby Lake, Coffee Lake offers higher cache sizes but lower base clocks. However, the single-core max frequencies are higher. The TDP is also higher.
