@Bond007:

Let us know how it goes

Swap went good other then I knocked my wifi switch cable out so I had to take it apart again and plug it in. The m5100 is detected as a m270x but tonight I will test if it can safely oc to 925mhz on core making it the same as the m275x. It's not a half bad gpu considering this laptop started with a 1000m aka gt 540.Current specs areI7 2.3ghz qc 2xxx series24gb ddr3 1866Corsair 480gb ssdToshiba 128gb msata1080p 15.6" screenM5100 aka 8870m aka m270x hahaIntel ac wifi bt 4.0 combo cardI may remove the DVD drive next for another ssd but other then that it's all maxed out.

I just realized that I could never go back to a poorly filtered case. Love it.

I just spend the 1 minute it takes to clean the intake filters on my arc midi r2 (I do it every few weeks to a month). After checking closely inside the case it is still 99+% dust free after around 16 months use, if I recall correctly. I know that the better filters collect dust, the bigger the airflow penalty, but I will take a couple degree rise for the cleanliness.

Very nice. I rarely keep the dust filters on my systems but most my rigs are on my desk so I never have a dust issue.

On another note got my wisdom teeth out today and it was not as bad as I expected. Time will tell though

Had all 4 of mine out ( from below the gum line and slightly under my molars) around 9-10 years ago. I didn't find it as bad as people made it out to be either I know some people can have complications though. Good luck on a quick recovery!

@Soullessone21:

Finally Ranked in CS:go life goal met :D haha

Haha. Nicely done.

I played a lot of CS 1.6 (I think it was that version) in university, but I never got into cs source or go. Day of defeat source was a different story. That was all on my first gaming PCman I ran that thing for a long time.

On the flip side from my rant, 5 hours later my bike is back in one piece. More expensive to fix than my car.

  • Front brakes
  • Bottom Bracket
  • Disassembled, cleaned, and repacked pedals
  • Adjusted front and rear derailleur since the new BB is .5mm shorter. Doesn't sound like much but it is for bikes.
  • Anti-seize ALL THE THREADS since a lot of it was lacking

Rave just saw my video on the front page of HardOCP and watch the views and subs quickly jump up.

Rant Mic sounds perfect in gaming but like shit while recording :( time for a new Mic and my backup mic is at a buddies who is out of town.

Not paid till Friday so can't get a new mic before then.

@Soullessone21:

New ceramic brake pads are way way better then the old ones. It's nice to stop without the brakes screaming at me.

So you either ran your brakes to the squeaky-tang, or you ran them right through the pad material and into the metal. facepalmYes, any new brakes will be an improvement! :P

Also, remember that the harder your pad material, the sooner you have to replace your rotor. Same for the other way around with hard rotor and soft pads. It is a balance depending on what sort of driving you do.You want the pads to wear out first though, they are designed to be the wear item.

He probably just went el cheapo the last time, as it hasn't been very long ::) Keep telling him Rock Auto's are stupid cheap but nooooo.

Oh and I finally got my D16Y8 exhaust manifold installed. What a pain in the ass! It's good I did it yesterday though since the Y7 manifold was about to rust off. I sound like a complete asshole between 3-5K RPM now though.

    • Rest assured that no matter if you choose a mainstream Core i5, a high-end Core i7, or the enthusiast Core i9 that you will be getting a very good to excellent processor. All three offer a lot of performance without all that much upfront cost. It just is those who want to get the best, most optimal, option for their needs should put more time, thought, and effort into their decision. So do your homework. Think about what you actually do with your system. Then come to your own conclusions. Not what anyone, including us, tell you what you should be buying. Doing otherwise may result in a rather major disservice to yourself and your next system.   Read the full review below: https://www.realhardwarereviews.com/intel-core-i7-10700k-core-i5-10600k-review/
    • In summary, if you are looking for a good deal, do not need it to be ‘the fastest’ PCIe 3.0 drive going, and do not plan on hammering it with more than 50% of the free capacity at one time, the Silicon Power UD70 2TB is a good option at a great price. Just understand the target demographics it was built for and the compromises required to hit its low asking price before you track one down.   Read the full review below:  https://www.realhardwarereviews.com/silicon-power-ud70-2tb-review/

    • Thank you! I'm looking through that thread now. It looks like I'll be dropping by Best Buy on my way home tonight to have a look at what they have! They have 10TBs in stock, so maybe I'll grab a couple!
    • I PMed you a link to the my source for this, a very popular Canadian deals (non-tech) forum. There are no guarantees you'll get the one you're looking for, but the accumulated intelligence is rather compelling, especially with returns allowed for unopened drives until January 16th, 2021. As those reports stand now, and discounting any shills:
