@Soullessone21:

That's a badass avatar and g777 is a great guy I have bought tons of gear from him :)

I would join you for ocing but I really need to hunt down 2 360 or 480 that are no taller then 124mm Daz sells them but scared of talking to my wife about buying computer gear hahahha

The part with your wife is really scary . I am in the same boat , plus i have to find a cheaper place to buy LN2 . 3$/L kills me any time when i fill up . Hopefully in the winter i will try to practice more

Dead Things -

Ha ha, that 8088 got pwned! :o

Almost :) However any attempt to validate by CPU-Z is tiresome at best:http://youtube.com/watch?v=IsA0UtOXP_o

But I working my arse off on fixing this as well, as I can - keaboard controller mod - now it use own crystal, so it should not be dependent on the FSB clock. There you have few preliminary pics of the replacement:

the bigger blobs of tin on few of the lefgs (too big holes, tin get thru) will be fixed later :)

BTW, I think I know how to do BSEL = 0 on the board. The BSEL = 1 is triggered by connecting 10k resistor to +Vcc (3.5V). Disconecting it, soldering it into one leg, up into the air and connecting the high leg with ground force the BSEL = 0, according to this PDF guide:http://web.archive.org/web/20000919074447/http://www.icst.com/pdf/9169c-27.pdf

The BSEL = 0 thing will mean that the PCI clock will be locked at 32MHz regardless of FSB, except the 7.14MHz "thing" :) That should help a lot for overclocking!

  • 3 weeks later...

With new GFX card (ATI Rage XL PCI) the display is fixed at 7.14MHz FSB:

With the latest CPU-Z beta I get the validation of 10.7MHz: http://valid.x86.fr/1qbfwjso I submit the lowest CPU-Z score on HWbot: http://hwbot.org/submission/2987009_

...

Also I manage the Aquamark lowest score 2: http://hwbot.org/submission/2980283_ Witch is also unbeatable. Took me 3 days short of one MONTH ;D ;)

So to put long story short, I would once again stress that it might be worth that some of you, guys, who have quite powerfull hardware, could step it and just for the Teamcup 2015 join again HWC team on HWbot and try do some good scores ;) Just for few days - ending 30.9.2015.

The low scores I have pretty much covered (only the AMD lowest clock slipped out of my grasp, because I lack AMD K6 3+, witch have a software multiplier control, so I could set the 7.14MHz FSB to x2 multi, giving me a 14.28MHz - and hard to beat low clock score ;) ), but some fast scores could be helpfull to do.

Pretty please with suggar on the top?

    • Hello everyone, now I am choosing between several laptops, but maybe you can advise me something better my priorities: mostly just for home, for watching movies and YouTube, for some light games (a couple of times a month), and sometimes for work (mostly google drive, various marketing resources, nothing heavy) around 600 USD 15.6" or more Acer, Asus? Order on Amazon? Windows prefarable 256 SSD or more. I will leave links of those notebooks that I am thinking about now https://www.amazon.com/Acer-A515-44-R41B-Hexa-Core-Processor-Graphics/dp/B087N4ZRXV?ref_=Oct_s9_apbd_simh_hd_bw_b2N0e&pf_rd_r=61THRATEMWAKYQZB6J7M&pf_rd_p=121acd9e-769b-5530-ae68-5a92ebd704d6&pf_rd_s=merchandised-search-10&pf_rd_t=BROWSE&pf_rd_i=565108 https://www.amazon.com/Acer-A515-55-56VK-i5-1035G1-Fingerprint-Keyboard/dp/B087RTV311/ref=sr_1_10?dchild=1&qid=1613042065&rnid=13896617011&s=computers-intl-ship&sr=1-10 THANKS!   Cali employee monitoring software

    • Rest assured that no matter if you choose a mainstream Core i5, a high-end Core i7, or the enthusiast Core i9 that you will be getting a very good to excellent processor. All three offer a lot of performance without all that much upfront cost. It just is those who want to get the best, most optimal, option for their needs should put more time, thought, and effort into their decision. So do your homework. Think about what you actually do with your system. Then come to your own conclusions. Not what anyone, including us, tell you what you should be buying. Doing otherwise may result in a rather major disservice to yourself and your next system.   Read the full review below: https://www.realhardwarereviews.com/intel-core-i7-10700k-core-i5-10600k-review/
    • In summary, if you are looking for a good deal, do not need it to be ‘the fastest’ PCIe 3.0 drive going, and do not plan on hammering it with more than 50% of the free capacity at one time, the Silicon Power UD70 2TB is a good option at a great price. Just understand the target demographics it was built for and the compromises required to hit its low asking price before you track one down.   Read the full review below:  https://www.realhardwarereviews.com/silicon-power-ud70-2tb-review/
